A CanSat is an autonomous device, capable of achieving a certain mission, which is implemented inside of a can. All the basic functions of a satellite must fit inside of a 330 ml can. Nowdays there are several competitions related to CanSats, and this number is in a constant growth year by year. There are other competitions like the "CanSats in Europe" competition, which is a competition for High School students from any country belonging to the European Union. The inscription period was opened in September of 2011 and finished the 16 of October of that same year.
Like in nearly any other CanSat competition, the participants have been sending progress reports to the competition jury, every two months since the selected teams were announced.
The last part of the competition is held in Norway and is where the rocket launching will take place. Here is the video of the European CanSat competition in past editions
