The first Spanish radar observation satellite, PAZ, will be capable of providing images in any type of weather conditions, day and night, and will primarily fulfil the security and defense needs of the Spanish government. This satellite will help to control the natural resources, evaluation of natural disasters and air pollution control. It will also help to a hight cartography resolution, defense and border control. This satellite is 1,200kg, and will circle the earth 15 times a day at an altitude of 505 km, and it will be able to supply an average of 200 images a day, covering ann area of arround 300,000 km^2.

The satellite INGENIO is the first Spanish optical Earth observation satellite. The mision of this satellite is to provide high-definition panchromatic and multi-spectral ground imaging for various applications that can be used in mapping, monitoring borders, land changes, urban planning, agriculture, water management, environmental monitoring, and risk and safety management. The launch of this satellite is planned to be in 2014. This satellite will generate an average of 230 images a day.
