Today, I will like to talk about an amzing and curiuos proyect I found on the internet, the Physics Central a site of the American Physical Society wich tries to makes physics accesible.
What most impressed me is proyect carryed out by Dr. Don Pettit an astronaut at ISS.
Don Pettit carrys out some experiment and ask a question to the viewers, the winner will receive a "Science off the Sphere" t-shirt and have their name and answer read by Dr. Pettit from the ISS.
The experiments are amazing because of the o-gravity situation.
I leave you the videos of the 5 experiment he had already post, with the question and the link to the original post wich includes the solution under the video, for those of you that want to think about the question.
Episode 1: Dancing Droplets
The video is not in youtube but here is the link to download the video.
The question: Why did Dr. Pettit need a nylon needle near the injected drops and why must the other needle be Teflon?

Episode 2: Bistronauts
The question: Why can't you use a regular cup in microgravity?
The link
Episode 3: Thin Film Physics
The question: Why does the shape of the water sheet affect the direction of the Marangoni convection?
The link
Episode 4: Lenses and Vortices
The question: How does the viscosity of the fluid influence a vortex?
The link
Episode 5: Fun with Antibubbles
The question: When the water sphere rotates, why do the bubbles center themselves?
The link with no solution yet.
