This competition differ from the ESA CanSat competition in some ways. For example, there are some different categories, such as the following:
Come-back: the CanSat must navigate to end as close as possible to the specified target. The movement must be autonomous.
Telemetry: the CanSat must send data in the flight. Among others, an identity code of 4 bits, altitude, temperature, acceleration, GPS location, other 3 digital signals and the sense of two events: the launch of the rocket and the parachute deployment.
Planetary Probe: the CanSat must take relevant data from the Earth as if it was on an unknown planet.
Scientific experimentation: the CanSat does some kind of test to any subsystem.
The CanSats are only launched if it is able to accomplish 80% of the objectives specified on the CDR (Critical Design Review).
