A study conducted from the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Germany, consisting of thirty researchers and based on 26 different projects, has created the most accurate map of magnetic fields within our galaxy.
This map n allows the study of magnetic fields on a small scale because of the accurate image reconstruction which has been carried out with 41000 measurements of the 26 projects mentioned before.
During the project, the Max Planck Institute reported that they had made the calculation of the magnetic field in the center of the Milky Way which is higher than the expected theoretically, the data indicate that 10% of the magnetic energy of the Milky Way would be condensed in a 0.1% of its volume.
Researchers hope it will help to scarify the origin of galactic magnetic fields.
